From the First Press Conference

Soon to be President Obama:

The No. 1 priority, Obama said, is to get Congress to approve an economic stimulus plan that would extend jobless benefits, send food aid to the poor, dispatch Medicaid funds to states and spend tens of billions of dollars on public works projects. If the plan is not approved this month, in a special session of Congress, Obama said that “it will be the first thing I get done as president of the United States.”

Translation:

The first thing I’m gonna do is spend the taxpayers’ money.  If you don’t have a job, I’m gonna get you more unemployment; if you don’t have food, I’m gonna get you food; if you can’t get Medicaid, I’m gonna get it for you so you can go to the doctor.  And last, but not least, I’m gonna spend tens of billions of tax dollars on public transportation so that if you don’t have a car, you can get where ever you need to go.

Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to be free…AND I’LL GET THEM UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT BENEFITS.

But you have to vote for me in the next election…or I might have to hurt you.

Quote of the Day

“Capitalism and communism stand at opposite poles. Their essential difference is this: The communist, seeing the rich man and his fine home, says: ‘No man should have so much.’ The capitalist, seeing the same thing, says: ‘All men should have as much.’ “

Singing the Blues Amerika Finds Itself in the Red

In today’s UKTimes, Daniel Finkelstein writes about the reasons why Americans voted for Barack Obama as President of the United States.  His primary premise is that America itself is richer, smarter and less white.

Let’s ponder that statement for a moment.

Nope, I’m not buying all of it.

America on Election Day was decidedly poorer than it was in 2004 when George W. Bush was elected President.  In fact, the Committee for a Responsible Budget recently reported that U.S. budget deficit numbers hover near $1 trillion dollars.  According to an ABC News Report, this deficit represents the

highest level of federal red ink as a share of the overall economy of any US budget since the 1940s. For each household, this year’s deficit would pile on an extra $8,620 of federal debt.

So much for being us being richer.

As for being smarter, Americans chose to elect a man who, by his own admission, wants to “spread the wealth around.”

But with a $1 trillion dollar deficit, there is not going to be much opportunity to use the tax code to create wealth here in America for a long time, especially with all of the economic promises made during the election cycle.

And the sad fact is that many of the promises made during the campaign are sure to be broken as the harsh reality of our diminishing economy, and the global economy as a whole, become more and more evident to all of us.

Besides, our first priority should be to reduce government spending before we commit any additional federal dollars for new programs.  But we can only accomplish this task by cutting earmarks and reducing the size of government, two things which are unlikely to occur with overwhelmingly Democratic representation in both houses of Congress and in the Office of President.

The only way out is through economic growth, which cannot occur if capital gains taxes are not drastically reduced.  Without decreased taxation, American corporations are not incentivized to create new jobs.  And as the global economy continues its downward spiral, the American economy will also continue to suffer from lack of capital, increasing interest rates and growing deficits in international markets.

We need to produce something the world wants.

And we need to figure out what that might be…quickly.  But the truth is that the entire world is in uncharted economic territory.  None of the stop-gap measures taken in any country have halted the economic skid.

And nobody is buying anything right now.

But creating more government jobs is not a solution.  It is an act of inherent self-destruction.

We tax ourselves more to create more jobs for which we tax ourselves more to keep our jobs.  Before long, we start to look a lot like…China…or Cuba.  Pick the communist country of your choice.

Which brings me to Finklestein’s last point:  America is less white.

And I agree with him on this point:

Amerika has become a red state.  She not only finds herself in the red financially, but she is in the red ideologically.

Legislating and agressively promoting marxist economic policies, the Democrats have, in this election, purchased for themselves two years of our time and our money to use as they see fit with more Fannies, more Freddies, and far less accountability than ordinary citizens can even imagine.

But the people of America have spoken.  They must really like the blues.

As for me, I’m seeing red.

And I don’t like it.

March of Obama’s Skeletons Continues

The March of Obama’s Skeletons continues.  It is a macabre parade, but is any breathing media pundit reporting it?

The nightmare is beginning.  And it is beginning to feel more like the Dawn of the Living Dead than the day after Halloween.  Those of us who are holed up, living and breathing free air and ideas while we can, are seeing the journalistic zombies staggering all around us.

But as someone aptly put it, this is the year that journalism died.

And I guess the dead cannot see the dead.

So it’s up those of us who are living to shine a light in the darkness, and report what we see to anyone else out there who is reading.

On Halloween, I wrote about the skeletons coming out of Obama’s closet.  And I linked you up with Trevor at NewZeal, who reports today that

Barack Obama’s chief campaign strategist David Axelrod, once worked for a man who was an identified member of the Communist Party USA, a registered agent of the Soviet Union and a paid disseminator of Soviet black propaganda.

This man went on to become a key Chicago political fixer who helped elect communist linked politicians including the late Chicago mayor Harold Washington and former US Senator Carol Moseley Braun.

This man knew Barack Obama and was a key member of an organisation which endorsed Barack Obama in his 2004 US Senate race. Barack and Michelle Obama were active members of this organisation, which was once investigated by the FBI over claims of communist infiltration.

Who was this man? What was his background?

The march is getting louder.  Can you hear it?  This is what it sound like:

The false charge…[of] racis[m] was only one of the smear campaigns used against [the]candida[te] by the Soviets and their surrogates. The American Communists covertly assisted in this “active measures” campaign.

Hey, PUMAs, are you listening?  This sounds a lot like Michelle Obama.

Read thoroughly.  And pass it on.

I see dead people.  And they’re voting.

Broken Promises = Broken Dreams

What is an undecided voter to do with information about an elected politican and presidential candidate who makes a promise, then breaks it before he is even elected?

In this campaign, few promises have been made other than the promise of “hope” and “change.”

Oh, and don’t forget spread the wealth.

But even CNN is starting to report on one broken promise that is hard to miss:  Barak Obama’s promise to accept public campaign financing and to work with his Republican counterpart to keep campaign spending in check.

Notice how quickly Obama shifted position…and how quickly that shift added considerable cash to his campaign chest.  CNN reports that the Obama campaign has raised over $600 million, a staggering amount that exceeds the amount raised by both George W. Bush and John Kerry in the 2004 presidential election.

What was Obama’s reason?  According to CNN’s Campbell Brown,

[H]e explained it by arguing that the system is broken and that Republicans know how to work the system to their advantage. He argued he would need all that cash to fight the ruthless attacks of 527s, those independent groups like the Swift Boat Veterans. It’s funny though, those attacks never really materialized.

So, by this Harvard graduate’s logic, it is essential to break a promise to fix a broken system…?

I wonder what broken system he will tackle next.  Perhaps Social Security…or Medicare.  And where he will get the cash to fix those broken systems?  What promises will he break and then dismiss as conveniently as this one?

As Machiavelli once said, “A prince never lacks legitimate reasons to break his promise.”

But the President is supposed to act in the best interests of the nation.  And Barak Obama has spent yearst to become an expert in just one thing–acting in his own best interests.

Keeping that thought in mind, take a close look at this picture which ran in the NY Times:

The heading of the diagram reads:  “Relationships Built on Self Interest.”   You could say that about all of Obama’s relationships.

Count them:  Bill Ayers, Bernadette Dorne, Antonin Rezko, Jeremiah Wright, Nadmi Auchi, Khalid al-Mansoor, and Rashid Khalidi…just to name a few.

While Obama spent 12 years lecturing at the University of Chicago Law School on Relationships of Self-Interest, his own life mirrored the principle perfectly.  After all, how many of us can count so many radicals among our circle of acquaintainces?

What do they have in common…besides Barak Obama?  And while Obama was busy in Chicago, he was associated with ALL of them.

For the majority of us, having only one relationship with any such extremist would raise serious issues of character.  Didn’t your mother always tell you that “you’re known by the company you keep.”

And Obama’s associations with each of these people, though not entirely well vetted by the mainstream media, is easily established by most of us who rely on alternative media for our sources of fact.

But the more difficult question to answer that this photo raises is this one:  Why did these people keep company with Barak Obama?  What was their compelling self-interest?

How can one person maintain relationships with so many people whose views are far outside the views of the majority of mainstream Americans?

If Obama is elected president, we may know within the first six months.

But by then, more than just promises will be broken.
